Mr Daniel Mui (Deputy Secretary-General, Operations) and Ms Rebecca Luk (Deputy Secretary-General, Management) hosted a media workshop to introduce the complaints monitoring procedures, complaint reports vetting process and classification, as well as other relevant information on IPCC. The workshop aims to facilitate frontline reporters’ understanding of IPCC’s work and enhance the Council’s networking and engagement with the media.

The IPCC Report 2017/18 was tabled to the Legislative Council by Hon Chan Kin-por (Vice-Chairman) on behalf of the IPCC in accordance with the IPCC Ordinance. On the same day, Mr Anthony Francis Neoh (Chairman), accompanied by Mr Richard Yu (Secretary-General) and Mr Daniel Mui (Deputy Secretary-General, Operations), hosted a media briefing to present an overview on IPCC's work in the past reporting period and shared initiatives going forward. Eight Members namely Miss Lisa Lau Man-man, Mr Herman Hui Chung-shing, Mr Barry Chin Chi-yung, Mr Clement Chan Kam-wing, Ms Ann Au Chor-kwan, Mr Alex Chu Wing-yiu, Miss Sylvia Lee Hiu-wah and Mr Roland Wong Ka-yeung were present using the opportunity to enhance the media's understanding of IPCC's work.

IPCC launched its twenty-fourth issue of IPCC Newsletter. Miss Lisa Lau Man-man (Chairman of Publicity and Survey Committee), accompanied by Mr Daniel Mui (Deputy Secretary-General, Operations), hosted a media briefing to present four complaint cases stemmed from crime investigation. In addition to introducing the latest activities, the newsletter also featured the aspiration of the new Council Chairman and two new Members regarding their appointments and note of thanks to the former Chairman and two retired Members.

Mr Richard Yu (Secretary-General) and Dr Robert Chung (Director of the University of Hong Kong Public Opinion Programme) announced the latest results of the IPCC public opinion survey at a media briefing. The survey was conducted through telephone interviews via landline and, for the first time, cellphone, on a random sampling basis in March 2018. A total of 1,002 local residents aged 18 or above were interviewed. Results showed that the respondents’ net confidence in the IPCC has gone up for two consecutive years.

The twenty-third issue of the IPCC Newsletter was released. Mr Larry Kwok Lam-kwong (Chairman), accompanied by Mr Daniel Mui (Deputy Secretary-General, Operations), hosted a media briefing to present three complaint cases stemming from the handling of exhibits. In addition, the newsletter covered two feature articles on the School Programme and the Secretariat delegation’s visit to four oversight bodies in Australia.
