The IPCC Report 2016/17 was submitted to the Legislative Council by Hon Chan Kin-por (Vice-Chairman) on behalf of the IPCC. On the same day, Mr Larry Kwok Lam-kwong (Chairman), accompanied by Mr Richard Yu (Secretary-General) and Mr Daniel Mui (Deputy Secretary-General, Operations), hosted a media briefing to present the work overview and related statistics of the IPCC in the past financial year. A number of Members also attended this event and exchanged views with the media representatives at a networking lunch that followed.

The twenty-second issue of the IPCC Newsletter was released. Mr Larry Kwok Lam-kwong (Chairman), accompanied by Mr Daniel Mui (Deputy Secretary-General, Operations), hosted a media briefing to present two complaint cases arising from criminal investigation and statistics concerning tactical complaints.

Mr Richard Yu (Secretary-General) and Dr Robert Chung (Director of the University of Hong Kong Public Opinion Programme) announced the latest results of the IPCC public opinion survey at a media briefing. The survey was conducted through telephone interviews on a random sampling basis in early March 2017 and 1,010 adults were interviewed. This year’s survey results show improvement in the areas of public confidence in, perception of and satisfaction with the IPCC.

The twenty-first issue of the IPCC Newsletter was released. Mr Larry Kwok Lam-kwong (Chairman), accompanied by Mr Daniel Mui (Deputy Secretary-General, Operations), hosted a media briefing to present the cover story of complaint cases relating to off-duty police officers. Other contents of the Newsletter included the sharing of nine new Members on their appointments and the Council’s recent stakeholder engagement activities.
