The IPCC was invited by the Hong Kong United Youth Association (HKUYA) to host a session of Youth Leadership Training Programme tailor made for their young Members. During the webinar, Mr Daniel Mui, Secretary-General (Ag) introduced the role and statutory functions of the IPCC and also exchanged views with HKUYA members on Hong Kong’s two-tier police complaints system. The webinar was very well received where Course attendees and other Members of HKUYA have planned to visit the IPCC in mid June to engage further.

5 March 2021

The IPCC kicked off second round of engagement with District Fight Crime Committee of 18 Districts. After Chinese New Year, Mr Clement Chan Kam-wing (Chairman of Publicity and Survey Committee) and Mr Daniel Mui (Secretary-General, Acting) attended Central and Western District Fight Crime Committee meeting. They introduced the work of the IPCC and also exchanged views with the attending members on Hong Kong’s two-tier police complaints system.

26 November 2020

Mr Clement Chan Kam-wing (Chairman of Publicity and Survey Committee) was invited by Rotary Club of Star Avenue and Rotary Satellite Club of Star Avenue – Inspiration to be the guest speaker at their regular meeting. Mr Chan introduced the role and statutory functions of the IPCC and also exchanged views with club members on Hong Kong’s two-tier police complaints system.

Mr Chan exchanged souvenirs with Mr Tony Cheung, President of Rotary Club of Star Avenue, and Mr Terence Lau, Chair of Rotary Satellite Club of Star Avenue – Inspiration. Mr Terence Lau also serves as an IPCC Observer.

21 October 2020

Mr Richard Yu (Secretary-General) visited Caritas Institute of Community Education and gave lectures to students studying Diplomas Yi Jin courses “Police Force Practice” and “Disciplinary Force Practice”. By sharing latest statistics and real complaint cases, Mr Yu shed light on the statutory role and functions of the IPCC. The lectures were well received by attending instructors and students.

20 October 2020

At the meeting with Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, Mr Richard Yu (Secretary-General) introduced functions of the IPCC and School Programme, and explained to the attendees the objectives of the IPCC Thematic Study.

12 June 2020

The IPCC received a delegation of 12 Mainland legal officials from the Common Law Training Scheme organised by the Department of Justice. Mr Richard Yu (Secretary-General) introduced the two-tier police complaints system in Hong Kong as well as the statutory functions of the Council. Delegates exchanged their views on the Council’s work, and expressed their appreciation of IPCC's effort in conducting the fact-finding Thematic Study.

25 and 26 May 2020

After the publication of the IPCC "Thematic Study Report on the Public Order Events arising from the Fugitive Offenders Bill since June 2019 and the Police Actions in Response", two briefing sessions were arranged for IPCC Observers. Dr Anthony Francis Neoh (Council Chairman) accompanied by Hon Tony Tse Wai-chuen (Vice-Chairman), Mr Herman Hui Chung-shing (Chairman of Operations Advisory Committee), Mr Clement Chan Kam-wing (Chairman of Publicity and Survey Committee), Dr Eric Cheng Kam-chung (Chairman of Case Vetting Sub-group 4), Ms Ann Au Chor-kwan, Mr Alex Chu Wing-yiu, Mr Johnny Yu Wah-yung, Mr Paul Lam Ting-kwok, Mrs Helen Yu Lai Ching-ping and Mr Richard Yu (Secretary-General), introduced and discussed the Thematic Study Report with the attending Observers.
