At the Joint Meeting between the IPCC and CAPO, the Force gave a presentation on dissemination of information to the public, and updated the progress of follow-up work on the 52 recommendations put forward by the IPCC in its Thematic Study Report. After the Joint Meeting, Dr Anthony Francis Neoh, Chairman of the IPCC (Photo on the right, centre), accompanied by Mr Clement Chan Kam-wing, Chairman of Publicity and Survey Committee (Photo on the right, right), and Mr Daniel Mui, Acting Secretary-General (Photo on the right, left) met with the media to introduce the twenty-seventh issue of the IPCC Newsletter, as well as to offer the latest complaints statistics arising from the Public Order Events and the vetting progress of complaint investigation reports submitted by CAPO.

The IPCC has been closely monitoring the implementation progress of improvements recommended in the IPCC Thematic Study Report on public order events in 2019 by the Police. Further to the Police’s progress update on temporary holding areas (THAs) at the recent Joint Meetings between IPCC and the Complaints Against Police Office (CAPO), today the Council Chairman Dr Anthony Francis NEOH led a delegation comprising 16 Council Members, including Vice-Chairmen Hon Ronick CHAN Chun-ying and Hon Jimmy NG Wing-ka, Members Mr Barry CHIN Chi-yung, Mr Clement CHAN Kam-wing, Mr Wilson KWONG Wing-tsuen, Ms Ann AU Chor-kwan, Miss Sylvia LEE Hiu-wah, Ms Melissa Kaye PANG, Mr Johnny YU Wah-yung, Dr Anissa CHAN WONG Lai-kuen, Mr Roland WONG Ka-yeung, Ms Jane Curzon LO, Mr Paul LAM Ting-kwok, SC, Mrs Helen YU LAI Ching-ping, Miss Mabel CHAN Mei-bo, Mr Randy YU Hon-kwan, Secretary-General Mr Richard YU and Secretariat representatives to visit to enhanced THA at Hung Hom Police Station. Accompanied by Ms Rebecca LAM Hiu-tong, Director of Management Services of Hong Kong Police Force, Ms Anna TSANG Yim-sheung, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Service Quality) and CAPO representatives, the IPCC delegation examined the enhanced facilities and gained more thorough understanding of enhancements made to resource deployment and systems for improving the service quality of the Force.
